Sourcing hybrid and EV parts: start with the right specialist

Keep high-voltage work out of a trial-and-error parts search.

In this guide

A hybrid or electric vehicle may share a model name with a different powertrain. Make that distinction early in the enquiry. Ask a suitably trained technician to identify the required component and compatibility before you look for a seller.

Give the specialist a clear brief

  • State whether the vehicle is hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric.
  • Provide the exact model, year and diagnosed part reference.
  • Ask the seller what evidence supports compatibility and the stated condition.

Leave high-voltage systems to trained people

Do not touch, open or attempt to replace high-voltage components or orange cables. Manufacturer instructions govern the particular vehicle. A marketplace listing, an attractive price or a familiar-looking connector is not evidence that a component can be fitted safely. MyFita does not currently provide automated VIN matching or high-voltage repair services.

Use accurate details, ask about anything uncertain and confirm the final arrangement directly with the seller.
