Left or right? Front or rear? Say which part you need
Avoid a common mismatch when ordering mirrors, lamps and other paired parts.

In this guide
An enquiry for a headlight or mirror is incomplete if the side is unclear. A photo taken facing the car can also reverse what the buyer and seller think they mean. Remove the ambiguity before discussing collection.
Use a precise description
- State front or rear where applicable.
- State left or right from the vehicle's normal forward-facing orientation, then confirm the seller uses the same convention.
- Include a part number and photographs of the actual item if available.
Check more than the visible shape
The connector, mounting points, adjustment features and vehicle variant may still differ. Ask the vendor to confirm those details with your mechanic. An illustrative enquiry could be: 'Left front lamp for this vehicle; please compare the connector and part number in my photo.' A clear description improves the conversation without claiming that a visual match proves fitment.
Put the guide into practice
Use accurate details, ask about anything uncertain and confirm the final arrangement directly with the seller.
