Help a rider, colleague or relative recognise the right item.

In this guide

The person collecting may not know the vehicle or the repair. Give them a short written brief and a contact person who can answer technical questions. Their job should not be to guess whether two similar items are interchangeable.

Send a collection pack

  • Listing link, seller's name and confirmed location.
  • Photo or part reference and the agreed quantity.
  • What should be included with the component.
  • Who to call if anything differs and what payment has been agreed.

Close the loop before leaving

Ask the collector to compare the item and receipt with the brief. If the seller substitutes another variant, pause for the mechanic or buyer to approve it. Packaging and transport arrangements should also be agreed with the seller. The marketplace does not arrange the collection or insure the item in transit.

Put the guide into practice

Use accurate details, ask about anything uncertain and confirm the final arrangement directly with the seller.
