Same model, different part: sourcing for imported vehicles in Ghana

Why the model name alone may not identify the component you need.

Used shafts, gears and other mechanical components stored inside a parts shop

In this guide

Two vehicles carrying the same model badge can need different components. For a used import, the registration year, model year and original market may not tell the same story. A listing title should narrow the search, not settle the fitment decision.

Take the evidence to a specialist

  • Record the vehicle details from reliable documents or the manufacturer label.
  • Photograph the old part number, connector and mounting points when safe to do so.
  • Ask a qualified mechanic or vendor to check the exact variant rather than guessing from appearance.

Keep identifying details private

Share a VIN or chassis reference only with a trusted person who needs it for compatibility checks; do not post identity documents in public listing comments or photos. MyFita's make, model and year controls are search aids, not a VIN decoder or a guarantee of compatibility.

Put the guide into practice

Use accurate details, ask about anything uncertain and confirm the final arrangement directly with the seller.
